Why do we do it?,it?it?,it?

After I turned thirty, I realized that my ideas have not changed any in the past twenty years. After cancer, poverty, abuse, faith, faith part two, marriage, school, college, career, kids, abuse part two, friends life issues, Families life issues, and reinventing myself.
I still think that I know it all.
Am I the only person who thinks this is funny?

A couple of my friends have gone on a quest to improve themselves. One is in his late 60's trying to open a resturant the same way he remembers doing it in the 60's. The other is in his early 20's and wants to buy his first home.
They share a common thread in not wanting to fail and not having capital. They ask me for advice into there endevores. So after seconds of meditation and looking for any obvious angle. I realized they need to dose themselves with reality.My suggestion "liquidate all assests". Everything they have down to a clean pair of und's and use all of their new capital to pursue their dreams. I wanted them to really test their mental metal and see why they wanted what they wanted. Once facing the Harry Carry option of sacrifice. Plans change but their dreams did not die. They understood that their family have more say in what they do than they thought. It's ok to try something new but remember you have to check your bags before going through the gate.
